Explorers Run Past Minutemen 82-75
La Salle stormed to a 26 point halftime lead and held off a furious UMass rally for an 82-75 victory at Gola Arena. Once again, the unselfish Explorers had four players in double figures and assisted on 21 out of their 26 field goals.
Leading the way again for the Explorers was Earl Pettis with 19 points, followed by Ramon Galloway (18), Tyreek Duren (12), and Sam Mills (11). Jerrell Wright chipped in with 7 points, 12 rebounds, and 4 blocks while DJ Peterson scored a career-high 8 points, going a perfect 2 for 2 from beyond the arc and the free throw line along with 2 assists. Duren was credited with 8 assists.
Chaz Williams was one of three UMass players in double figures, scoring 24 points and handing out 5 assists.
