Explorers Rebound With 80-66 Win Over URI


La Salle, coming off of two close losses in A10 road contests, returned to the friendly confines of Gola Arena and rebounded for a 80-66 win over Rhode Island.  The game was close throughout until the Explorers slowly pulled away midway through the second half, extending the lead to 16 points with just under two minutes left.

All five La Salle starters scored in double figures, led by Tyreek Duren's 21 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists.  Also in double figures were Earl Pettis (19), Jerrell Wright (17), Ramon Galloway (10), and Sam Mills (10).  Mills also contributed 6 assists and Wright grabbed 8 rebounds.  For Rhode Island, Jonathan Holton (18 points and 17 rebounds) was one of four players in double figures.

With the win, La Salle is now 14-6 overall and 3-2 in A10 play.  Rhode Island falls to 3-17 overall and 0-5 in the A10.
